Cate Blanchett at the Zurich Film Festival

Within the context of the 15th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), which ran from September 26th to October 6th, actress and producer Cate Blanchett presented the fifth edition of the Filmmaker Award.

The awards ceremony was held during a private evening organised by the watch brand.

A total of 38 projects had applied for the 5th Filmmaker Award. The jury selected Wanda, My Miracle as the winner. The film tells the story of a Polish woman named Wanda. While looking after an older Swiss couple in their villa, she embarks on an affair with their youngest son Gregor and unexpectedly becomes pregnant. The film will be released in 2020. Directed by Bettina Oberli from Bern, it is produced by Lukas Hobi and Reto Schaerli, who, in addition to the Filmmaker Award, were also presented with a Portugieser Automatic from IWC Schaffhausen.
